Course Aims

The research summary for Phonics compiled by the EEF indicates that pedagogical expertise is a key component of successful teaching of early reading. This course revisits and refreshes subject knowledge (those who have attended the Focusing on Phonics course will be familiar with this content) and explores the effective teaching and learning of phonics.

Part 2 is on Tuesday 5 October 2021 at 1.45pm.

Part 3 is on Tuesday 12 October 2021 at 1.45pm.

Free follow-up session on Tuesday 2 November 2021 at 1.45pm.

Who Should Attend?

Teachers and teaching assistants in EYFS and KS1. The course is particularly useful for NQTs and those new to the teaching of phonics. Subject leaders are also invited to attend.
